The charming fishing port of L’Ametlla de Mar with its shops, restaurants and beaches is only 5 kms away. Watch the fishing boats bringing in and unloading the day’s catch which is then auctioned off at the fish market or sit at one of the cafés by the port and watch the world go by. The Els Ports Natural Park mountain range, the highest peak being Mont Caro at approximately 1447m is also nearby. These is a serious range of mountains but there are possibilities for all levels of experience all year round.

Barcelona is an easy (cheap) train ride from L’Ametlla with free parking at the station. For lovers of modernist architecture, Gaudi’s masterpiece, the Sagrada Familia must be seen as well as some of his other works such as Park Guell, Casa Batlló and Casa Milà. Walk down Paseo de Gracia to window shop in the exclusive designer shops that line the avenue or jump on the tourist bus that will take you around the city and let you off at the most important sights of interest such as the Gothic Quarter and the Picasso Museum.
